There are several emulators available on the internet which can be used to emulate Android OS on your PC. Though not all of them work well, we will be discussing the two top emulators which work very well and are being used by most of the people. The two emulators are "Andy" and "Bluestacks".
First off, let's get started with Andy
Andy is a very easy to use emulator for Windows. It has a very impressive UI based on Kitkat OS. although it is pretty good looking and gives you the feels of having an actual android, it requires a good computer to run. Low end computers wont do it. If you want the actual requirements, this is what we got from our "experiments" with andy. These specifications will run Andy smoothly. If your specifications are low, you might be able to run andy but probably not as smooth.

Bluestacks is a lightweight (not very) android emulator. If you have a low end PC, Bluestacks should run fine on it. It does not simulate an android. In fact, it has been made for gaming so it is very simple if you just want to run games. There is no homescreen in it, only a simple menu which has a lot of apps which you can install and play. The performance is not better than Andy but on low end devices, it works better than Andy. Bluestacks also has many Advertisments and You cannot have Bluestacks for free but You can have a Trial Version and when the Trial runs out it gives you an option to either Pay up or Install some random games on your PC.

What we prefer:
We prefer Andy. The biggest advantage is that Andy is totally free. There is no trial version and you are not asked to install random apps as in Bluestacks. Andy gives you an overall experience of an android while Bluestacks is very simple and focuses on gaming (which it doesn't do better than Andy). Andy runs a later version of android than Bluestacks, so it can run more apps than Bluestacks. Andy can be used easily for other apps apart from games although Bluestacks, when we used it, didn't work well with other apps.
