How to end Windows Processes using High CPU

How to stop Trustedinstaller.exe and svchost.exe if they are eating a lot of cpu?

We've seen many people trapped in this problem and we have an easy solution for it.

Permanent Solution:

  1. Click start then click Control panel.
  2. In the search box type Automatic Updates.
  3. Choose "Turn automatic updating on or off".
  4. Under the Important Updates, there will be a drop down menu, Click on it and choose the third option (Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them)
This option worked on all the PCs we tried it on. If it doesn't work for you, Try the Temporary solution below..

Temporary Solution:

  1. First of all Download Process Explorer. It is a microsoft program and (Obviously) 100% Virus free. It is a replacement for Task manager but it's very powerful than the ordinary task manager.
  2. Then after the download go to it's directory (it would be preferred if you save it to program files or such directory for future use).
  3. Right click on it and click run as admin.
  4. Now that the application has Administrator privileges, it would easily be able to manage svchost.exe and other processes.

For svchost.exe:

  1. Right Click on svchost.exe (which eats alot of CPU) and hover over Set Priority.
  2. Click on Idle in the end and it's usage will drop.
WARNING!!! Do not kill svchost.exe it may lead to Windows Unstability

For Trustedinstaller.exe:

  1. Right click on Trustedinstaller.exe and click on Suspend.

For other non-system processes:

  1. You know what to do right? Just right click and click Kill Process.
And you are Done! Leave a comment if you have any question :)
