How to stop Trustedinstaller.exe and svchost.exe if they are eating a lot of cpu?
We've seen many people trapped in this problem and we have an easy solution for it.
Permanent Solution:
- Click start then click Control panel.
- In the search box type Automatic Updates.
- Choose "Turn automatic updating on or off".
- Under the Important Updates, there will be a drop down menu, Click on it and choose the third option (Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them)
Temporary Solution:
- First of all Download Process Explorer. It is a microsoft program and (Obviously) 100% Virus free. It is a replacement for Task manager but it's very powerful than the ordinary task manager.
- Then after the download go to it's directory (it would be preferred if you save it to program files or such directory for future use).
- Right click on it and click run as admin.
- Now that the application has Administrator privileges, it would easily be able to manage svchost.exe and other processes.
For svchost.exe:
- Right Click on svchost.exe (which eats alot of CPU) and hover over Set Priority.
- Click on Idle in the end and it's usage will drop.
For Trustedinstaller.exe:
- Right click on Trustedinstaller.exe and click on Suspend.
For other non-system processes:
- You know what to do right? Just right click and click Kill Process.
